This
site is designed to provide news and information about
research on teacher education in europe, and to
form the basis for a community of practice within
research on teacher education. It is also meant to
provide a link between members of the network in between
ECER conferences. Anyone wanting to post information or
enquiries on the site please contact the link-convenor.
The
purpose of Network 10 is to provide a forum for the
discussion of research into trends and developments
within Teacher Education in Europe. Papers should be
directly related to a topic of interest relevant to the
European or international context. Papers with a narrow,
national scope will be rejected as they are better
suited to a national research forum. In particular we
aim to focus on developing critical awareness about and
analysis of:
- policy and policy
trends in Teacher Education;
- changes in the nature
of teaching and teacher identities;
- directions in organization, governance and
accountability of Teacher Education;
- developments in the processes of supporting
professional learning at different stages in the
teacher’s career;
- the role of research
in Teacher Education, its funding and status.
- papers should involve
systematic, empirical or analytic enquiry and be
presented clearly and in a way that is sensitive to
the range of languages spoken.
